Remember...The hour has gone back!

Have you all remembered that the hour went back last night? An extra hour of sleep ... how lovely we all think, but the true reality of it is not many people actually get this extra hour sleep and end up even more tired... (I am typing this with my three children and puppy who have all been up since 4:50am.) 5:50, ten to six isn't too bad but with the hour gone back ten to five seems so much worse... However children do not understand the hour has gone back (especially when their clock still says 5:50..ooppss!)

Babies routines get disrupted, and loads of people worldwide google 'help baby waking one hour earlier' or 'hour change routine disrupted.'  A scenario that happens twice a year every year... Only to find articles on how to prevent it by weaning them into it the previous three days, (why didn't I do that...great to know for next hour change but too late now!!!) However, although it is concerning at the time rest assured it will just be a short lived phase and they will quickly adapt to the new time...

Today, you should be able to put your baby down at the new time (your baby's usual time with the hour change)

Don't allow the clocks going back to let you slip into bad habits, bringing your baby/toddler into bed with you or  giving a dawn milk feed to encourage your baby back to sleep, (although this may work in the short term it could cause long term sleeping problems.)

Within a couple of days you will probably forget the hour ever changed and then once the hour has gone forward in spring you will equally be googling and finding articles about preventing it thinking why didn't I do that...
